PAWS FOR A PURPOSE PROGRAM

The Paws for a Purpose fund provides financial assistance for medical and dental expenses for the City of Elk Grove Shelter animals and pets owned by residents of the City of Elk Grove, CA  (some exceptions may apply)

A grant is typically around $200 - $500 and is intended to fill a small gap in funding that is keeping an animal from care and to prevent surrendering their pet to the shelter. This assists the shelter from overcrowding and most importantly keeps their pet where they belong...in their forever home!
Decisions are based upon several factors including medical urgency, financial need, available funding and eligibility. Due to the number of requests, we are unable to assist everyone.

Once an application is received, you may expect a response by email or phone within one to two days. (sooner if life threatening)
If an animal needs immediate care, where any delay will put the animal at risk, it is the owners responsibility and duty to seek care immediately. There is no guarantee that Paws for a Purpose will be able to provide financial assistance.
